Myth Four: Centrifugation improves the quality of the biologic.

This video takes on the discussion of whether or not centrifugation improves the biologic. After centrifugation, a large amount of the cells may be discarded, which delivers false assumptions that everything aspirated is marrow or that stem cell density is captured in the “buffy coat.”

“It’s just not true that centrifugation improves quality, and they aren’t captured in the “buffy coat” layer, simply because of the density of those cells. There’s also no uniform dispersal of the cells,” Andrew clarified.
